This is a family site. It is meant to be viewed and enjoyed by people of all ages, please respect this by not using foul language on the message board or any other part of the site.

All graphics and text (as in the general layout) on the web site must NOT be copied or/and reused in any way whatsoever without first seeking permission. Permission will usually be granted as its nice to share photos. The site is the copyright of Bill Clark 1997-2012. If you would like to use any of the graphics then please email me at the address at the end of this document.

All photos are available for you to download and use for your own personal use. Any other use that is not personal is not permitted without permission from me. Photos donated to the web site are copyright to various people and we have gained permission where possible to use those photos. Please don't abuse other peoples copyright. If you see a photo that you want to use and note that it is copyrighted then you must do everything you can to contact the copyright holder. Once you have downloaded a photo then we are not held responsible for what you decide to do with it.. Copyright details are given where known.

Information is collected on all visitors in the way of your I.P Address. This is done and logged in case there is ever a complaint made and the Webmaster is asked to investigate.

In some cases you will be asked for a valid email address. This is only asked for so that should you lose your username or password to message forum area then you can retrieve it automatically. Failure to supply a valid email address may result in you or your I.P Address (or both) being banned from various areas of the web site. Please also be aware that by not supplying a valid email address you will not be able to retrieve your password or have passwords sent to you. The Webmaster will not release a password to you for security reasons. This also takes up time and defeats the reason as to why password retrieval methods are automated. However, if you do have great difficulty then please contact me.

Please be aware that we do NOT and will NOT give away, sell, promote, spam or release your email address to anyone. We do not like SPAM mail and will not tolerate it.. Please accept that your email address once provided will only be used for password retrieval by yourself. It will not be used for any other purposes outside of this site.

Please be aware that some links may take you to sites of any nature. These are called External links. These links are NOT in any way the responsibility of the Southlakes web site. If you click on a link and it takes you to a site that is not on the Southlakes server then the content is NOT our responsibility. If you have a complaint about a particular link then take the issue up with the webmaster of that site.

The Southlakes web site recognizes the importance of protecting the privacy of all information provided by users of our web site, The policy was created to give visitors an insight into what we would expect from them and what they would expect from us.

The site is a family site so please respect the fact that people of all walks of life may at sometime pop in for a visit. You have to accept the fact that what may be OK to someone may not be to another. Personally I, as webmaster am not easily offended and personally don't give a monkeys as the internet covers a broad spectrum but please consider its other visitors. This web site has taken a long time to build up and I can say on good authority that school children have used this site to research the history of the area so please keep any posts on the message forum clean. .

Views of a personal nature can be published but please be aware that the writer of the message is responsible for its content and not the Southlakes Web Site(s).

The message forum has also been password protected so as to keep out spammers. Please be aware of the following basic rules.

1....No profanities please. This is a family site. Some posts may be automatically moderated. Constant abusers will be banned.

2...No commercial advertising without prior permission from the webmaster. Private advertising is somewhat permitted with the approval of the webmaster, more so if it is related to the South lakes area

4...The webmasters decision on postings or any aspect of the Southlakes web site is final and not open to debate or questioning and may be edited, amended or deleted.

If you can't abide by these few basic rules then please don't post. Persistent offenders will be banned. Please be aware that due to security filters being in place that some posts may innocently be moderated.

INFORMATION COLLECTION AND USE
Southlakes website(s) collects no personal information from users of this web site apart from that which users and members voluntarily enter into the website. The only information we do collect is members names and email addresses when requesting access to the message forum. We accept no responsibility for the content of any data inputted by the user such as message content.

E-mail addresses
We only collects those e-mail addresses submitted by those users who enter their e-mail address in order to obtain access to parts of the site.

We do not sell, rent or lease its user list nor do we allow its user lists to be seen by any third parties.

No personal information is collected by us from visitors when viewing pages, or when navigating this site. We do not collect or harvest E-Mail addresses of people who E-Mail us directly. We only use them to respond to your queries.

IP address:
Every computer connected to the Internet has a numeric address called an “IP address." This may or may not correspond uniquely to a particular computer. In some cases, IP addresses can be resolved to domain names, which may indicate a site visitor's Internet service provider, employer, university, etc. The collection of IP addresses is to eliminate abuse on the system. IP addresses are not sold or leased to anyone other than when requested by law enforcement officials under warrant or when a complaint of abuse is made.

Please may we remind you that all I.P. addresses are logged and may be used
against any person who attempts to misuse or abuse the message forum in any way.
Any undesirable activity will be reported to your ISP with a view to them taking action against the culprit

1.....You agree that we can log your I.P address and store information about your ISP.
2.....You do NOT abuse the message forum otherwise we will take action.
3.....Your posts may at times be moderated and it is the webmasters or moderators decision to allow or reject them without having to give reason.
4.....Your I.P address will be appended to any message you post.
5.....Any SPAM, advertising, obtaining pecuniary advantage or similar is not allowed.
6.....Topics should be about the Furness and southlakes area or at least related in some way and Politics and Religion will NOT be discussed on the forum.
7.....Keep the message Subject in line with the message you post. If the subject changes then adjust this in the subject line..
8....Moderators keep tabs on the forum content and if they find an inappropriate message not related to the website or listed under the terms and conditions laid out here then they have the right to remove, amend or delete it without any warning and without having to give reason.
9.....The webmasters decision to delete or ban is not questionable and the webmaster reserves the right to do this.

1...If you lose your log in details then please use the automated retrieval process to get them back. This can be found under FORUM on the main page of the website

2...You MUST give a correct email address when you sign up as the system will automatically send you an email when you sign up and you will need to hit REPLY and reply to that email within 48hrs of signing up. If you do not do this or you use a false email address then the system will automatically refuse your application after 48hrs. Your I.P address will also be logged.

3...Please be aware that any other username or password you may have for any other part of the southlakes web site is not valid for the forum, You need to sign up for unique access to the forum..

Violations of this Policy WILL result in article cancellation without notice.
Persons or companys who make unwelcome posts
WILL be banned from making further posts
and their IP address and post will be sent to their ISP with a request that the
ISP service be withdrawn from the offending person or company
