The Southlakes web site recognizes the importance of protecting the privacy of all information provided by users of our web site, The policy was created to give visitors an insight into what we would expect from them and what they would expect from us.

This policy is in two parts.
1...What we expect from you.
2...What you should expect from us.

WHAT WE EXPECT FROM YOU.

The site is a family site so please respect the fact that people of all walks of life may at sometime pop in for a visit.  You have to accept the fact that what may be OK to someone may not be to another. Personally I, as webmaster am not easily offended and can take the rough with the smooth but its other visitors you have to consider.   This web site has taken a long time to build up and I can say on good authority that school children have used this site to research the history of the area so please keep any posts on the message forum clean.  If you must mention a vulgar word then its not me that it offends as I can take it but please appreciate that you have to consider if it offends others.

Views of a personal nature can be published but please be aware that the writer of the message is responsible for its content and not the Southlakes Web Site(s).

In short, Be sensible, Use the message forums sensibly and please consider other visitors to the site.   A swear filter is in place but sometimes words do get through and usually I leave it unless someone complains then I will edit the message posted by the user, (which is my right as webmaster).  Please accept that due to popular demand, the message forum is no longer moderated by myself and is now done automatically.   C

The message forum has also been password protected so as to keep out spammers.  Please be aware of the following basic rules.

1....No profanities please. This is a family site. Some posts may be automatically moderated.   Constant abusers will be banned.

2...No commercial advertising without prior permission from the webmaster

3...No Pyramid schemes or other mail that could be defined as "JUNK" mail.

4...The webmasters decision on postings or any aspect of the Southlakes web site is final and not open to debate or questioning.

If you can`t abide by these few basic rules then please don`t post.  Persistent offenders will be banned.  Please be aware that due to security filters being in place that some posts may innocently be moderated.

Southlakes website(s) collects no personal information from users of this web site apart from that which users and members voluntarily enter into the “Create Profile” and “Edit Profile” forms as well as details given for obtaining access to the message forum and details posted by visitors in the email directory and guestbook.. We also accept no responsibility for the content of any data inputted by the user such as message content.

E-mail addresses
We only collects those e-mail addresses submitted by those users who enter their e-mail address in order to obtain access to parts of the site.

We do not sell, rent or lease its user list nor do we allow its user lists to be seen by any third parties.

No personal information is collected by us from visitors when viewing pages, or when navigating this site. We do not collect or harvest E-Mail addresses of people who E-Mail us directly. We only use them to respond to your queries.

IP address:
Every computer connected to the Internet has a numeric address called an “IP address." This may or may not correspond uniquely to a particular computer.
